Property Room

Asking on behalf of our property room officer. If we have CSC/Homicide evidence that has already been processed and uploaded to the report, and the case has been solved, prosecution is complete, etc, can we get rid of it? There are garbage bags and bins full of bed sheets, clothes, etc. that have been long ago forgotten about. Is there a retention on all evidence to a case?
