Hello,

I am in charge of handling the MICR errors given to us by the State Police MICR Unit. We are having a large issue with one case in particular, and they are requesting the narrative. How do I go about redacting this? Is the MICR Unit part of “law enforcement” in which I would leave everything except LEIN? Please advise…

MICR does not appear to meet the definition of a CJI System. Redaction of LEIN would be required under MCL 28.214. Other information may be subject to redaction based on other exemptions. It’s difficult to say without seeing the documents.
