I have a request for a certified copy of a police report.

We have never had this request. What does your department do to certify a report?

Allegan County Sheriff’s Office – We bought a stamp that states “Certified to be a true and exact copy of original” and then I initial it.

We also had a stamp made that says “Plymouth Twp Police Department – Certified True Copy of Original”

We have a letter that says we are certifying the records (XYZ) and there are only two of us who can sign the letter, in addition to a notary. I love that a lot of agencies have a stamp – we should get one!
